Sunday Parkways Event - Sunday, May 16, 2010

Free and Open to the Public
Kansas City, Missouri's first Ciclovia-type festival will take place on Sunday, May 16 in conjunction with Car Free Weekends on Cliff Drive. Participate in human-powered activities while enjoying a free, family-friendly, festival-like atmosphere.

12:00pm: Free hot dogs to the first 500 participants, Carl Di Capo Fountain
12:00-4:00pm: Bike Safety Inspections by Revolve Inc., Area 3
12:00-4:00pm: Dog Show, Tricks and Frisbee Skills by Sit Means Sit, Area 4
12:00-4:00pm: Puppets by StoneLion Puppet Theatre, Roving
12:00-4:00pm: Kansas City Museum at Corinthian Hall open, 3218 Gladstone

On Cliff Drive, activities will take place between the Kansas City Museum and East Gladstone entrances; additional activities will take place on Gladstone Boulevard from the Kansas City Museum to Indian Mound.The route is 4 miles long.

CAR FREE WEEKENDS AT CLIFF DRIVE CONTINUE

Due to the success of the 2008 and 2009 programs gates along Cliff Drive will close to all motorized vehicles at 2:00pm, Friday and remain closed until 8:00am on the following Monday. (If a holiday falls on a Friday, the gates will close at 2:00 m the preceding Thursday. If a holiday falls on Monday, the gates will re-open the following Tuesday at 8:00am.

Pedestrians and bicycle enthusiasts are encouraged to come to Cliff Drive and take advantage of the opportunity it offers to promote a healthy lifestyle.
